What we do

Tasmanian Cleaner’s Specialist is a family owned business by husband and wife team James and Ellie Pardoe since 2010. They are the trusted supplier of equipment and chemicals to established carpet cleaners and restorers and non-industry sectors such as Government organisations, schools and university campuses, aged care, hospitals, hotels, kennels and catteries, trade and professional businesses.

They provide technical advice and sales in chemicals, truck mounts, portable carpet cleaning equipment, drying and restoration equipment, van installations, as well as specialising in maintenance and repair services. Our workshop and sales front of house is based in Launceston but we can provide onsite advice and services to Tasmania state wide.

Our story

James has been in the field of carpet cleaning and restoration equipment and chemicals for 18 years. He is not only Tasmania’s leading local expert but offers advice nationally.  James was a trade qualified vehicle mechanic in England for 12 years before making Australia his home with wife Ellie.

Making Sydney his first stop he started out as the workshop technician in Sydney for Carpet Cleaner’s Warehouse in 2003. Running the workshop James’s mechanical knowledge was utilised on a range of equipment from portable carpet cleaning equipment through to the most sophisticated truckmounts and high-tech restoration systems.

3 years later it was onto bigger things with a move to Brisbane where James set up the Brisbane branch for Carpet Cleaner’s Warehouse. CCW are highly qualified and respected well known national leaders and were great mentors supporting him to get qualifications from the IICRC - Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification.

  • Water restoration and mould remediation technician
  • Meth decontamination and testing technician

Not long after the big move to Brisbane, James went to New Orleans and Miami after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina as a technical expert and trusted team member in crews operating desiccant dehumidifies for Commercial Drying Technologies. The role was difficult but the experience gained was invaluable.

Ellie has always been a support from the side-lines going to key industry events when she could and knows who is who in the world of carpet cleaning and restoration. She was busy being a Project Manager for Virgin Blue Australia, Caterpillar until 2014 when she joined James at the workshop full time so they could focus and grow their own local business to be top industry leaders together.

Where James has the experience of technical knowledge, Ellie is a powerhouse in networking and business. She is looking to concentrate her time on building stronger ties with their suppliers and customers and will be out and about introducing herself to new markets so you have a friendly face to put to the name of TC Spec.

How did we get to Tasmania?

It was the right move to make after starting a family in 2009. We wanted to bring our family up in a place that was away from the fast-moving pace of both Sydney and Brisbane. We went out on our own and started Tasmanian Cleaner’s Specialist and ever since we’ve really got to know the locals and feel very much a part of the Tasmania life style.

What's next?

James is always keeping up with what is going on in the industry, upskilling his knowledge both on the chemical and machinery front with new technology product training and informational sessions from suppliers and manufactures within Australia and overseas. He sees this as important part of his trade that he proactively shares with his customers.

Ellie will be putting her skills in business to good use to further establish supplier lines to match the needs of the Tasmanian carpet cleaners & restorers and non-industry sectors such as Government organisations. She knows that receiving constructive feedback from their customers is going to play a key role in what TC Spec stocks in chemicals and machinery.
